Biography

THE PAPERBOATS

The Paperboats are a band from the UK/Portugal. Formed by front man and main songwriter Paul Da Silva (Vocals/Guitar) originally
from London, the band was born in 2009 after Paul’s invite
to open up for The Script in Portugal, still as a solo artist promoting the release of his independent E.P N.E.W.S. After being introduced
to Christian Ferraz (bass), Pedro Menano (Drums), Andre Branquinho (Guitar), and resurrecting songs he had in hand to be played with
a full lineup, Paul knew there was something there than just sun
and song away from home. "...I always say it's better to be a brave fool than a wise coward, so it was a natural choice to hang around
for a bit and see what could happen when I met these guys and
we started playing ..." Paul reveals. Without too much convincing,
he remained in Portugal for some time practically living under their roofs and quickly writing more songs as the band gigged extensively winning a large fan base for the live show. After some months
of playing and after selling some beloved gear, the band earned
the means to happily get themselves over to London. This time Paul provided the roof and the band started recording the debut album Surviving The Flood at The Voodoo Lounge studios with producer Thomas Johansen. After having the album mastered at Sterling Studios New York, the boys quickly returned to Europe over
the moon and eager to be where they best feel at home; on stage. Curses is the debut single from the band with a voice described
as “crushed glass wrapped in velvet…” Surviving The Flood
is set for release in September 2011.
